An attractive early twentieth-century schoolroom publication designed for children ages ten to fifteen, featuring recitations, poetry, quotations, authors’ birthdays, and special programs for celebrating New Year and midwinter occasions. Includes selections by Henry W. Longfellow, William Wordsworth, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and other writers, along with historical commemorations and classroom performance exercises. Features charming original green pictorial wrappers depicting three young girls in a decorative performance scene, with period ornamental lettering and architectural motifs. An appealing example of early American educational publishing and schoolroom entertainment. CONDITION: GOOD.
