Es uno de los grandes de la novela histórica, nació en Londres en 1944. Estudió en la Universidad de Londres y posteriormente trabajó para la BBC durante diez años. Fue entonces cuando conoció a Judy, una turista americana que pronto se convirtió en su mujer. Effects of cancellation
