Twelve thought-provoking questions spread across twelve chapters they can explore at their own pace — either over a year or in twelve dedicated weeks.
12 Hard Questions About God invites teens to go beyond simple answers and, through the questions they are already asking, prompts them to examine, in a clear and systematic way, the core beliefs of Christianity, why Christians believe them, and why they matter.
Saints, thinkers, converts, skeptics, and historical figures demonstrate that the questions young people face today are neither new nor intellectually trivial.
Readers will explore questions such as:
In each chapter:
Geared to every Christian who confesses the Apostles’ Creed — a Catholic theology for teens a Protestant family can read without friction. Aude Saint Martin brings together Scripture, Christian theology, reason, historical evidence, and the lives of men and women who wrestled seriously with faith themselves. She brings a lawyer’s habits to theology: precision with language, patience with complexity, and a refusal to let an argument rest on assertion alone.
Written for thoughtful teens roughly 15–19, 12 Hard Questions About God presents the Christian case seriously and gives young readers a framework for examining what they have been taught, testing it for themselves, and moving from inherited belief toward personal conviction.
Because by adulthood, the question is no longer simply, “What was I taught?” It becomes, “What do I actually believe, and why?”
