100 Locals. 1 Eternal City. Your New Rome Playbook.
Forget the so-called experts and their cookie-cutter itineraries. This isn’t another guide telling you where they think you should go. Instead, we’ve gone straight to the source—100 real Romans sharing their favorite restaurants, beloved coffee bars, and secret spots they’d rather keep to themselves.
From hidden piazzas perfect for a sunset aperitivo to coffee bars pulling the smoothest espresso shots in town, this is the Rome locals actually live and love. No overcrowded landmarks, no overpriced tourist menus, and definitely no watered-down espresso.
With the Jubilee drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to Rome, there’s never been a better time to skip the tourist crowds and uncover the city’s best-kept secrets. As the first in our growing series (followed by the London edition, with more cities on the way), this guide is updated every month to ensure all recommendations are fresh and all establishments are still open. So whenever you grab a copy, you can trust it’s the most current edition available.
Whether it’s your first trip to the Eternal City or your tenth, this guide is your shortcut to experiencing Rome like a true insider. Because why follow the herd when you can follow the locals?

Review
There are so many city guides out there, but the criteria chosen for most of them has never really appealed to my desire to discover a city through the eyes of its inhabitants. This guide answers to exactly that desire, and it is an utmost gem in allowing readers to find local places that would, otherwise, remain unknown to most visitors. --Giulia L., Miami
So beautifully presented and chock full of insider information, I am so curious where the book will take me next. Filled with little gems and personal accounts from all different points of view and experience, this book makes navigating this sometimes overwheming city a lot easier. Highly recommended if you want to see and experience the real Rome. --Nina Coates, Rome
