Texts by Katherine anne Porter, Francis Steegmuller, Louis Kronenberger, Peter Quennell, Ernest Nagel, and F. W. Dupee. Fiction by William Maxwell and E. B. White. Poetry by Daniel G. Hoffman, Howard Moss and John Hall Wheelock. An illustrated history of 17th and 18th century American painting by James Thomas Flexner. Also contains a selective listing of new books and periodicals, book reviews and biographical notes and photographs of contributors. Typography and design by Alvin Lustig and cover illustration by Rudolph de Harak. Internally clean and unmarked with tight, sound binding. Head edge is lightly foxed and dust soiled.
