Synopsis: Dearest Waiki, a collection of letters and stories is an intimate account of one woman’s spiritual journey. Markham's message is sometimes delightful, sometimes heartbreaking, and always uplifting. Underscored by deeply personal visions and dreams, Dearest Waiki creates an awareness of the many spiritual lessons that surround each of us, each and every moment.

Dearest Waiki chronicles Markham's struggle to find her true life's calling, her amazing adventure while following a spiritual mentor to a remote Peruvian community, the tour guide in Hawaii who was destined to become her husband, the startling lessons learned during Markham's debilitating illness, the deaths of close friends and Markham's own father.

Dearest Waiki is a reminder of our connection to the earth, the Cosmos, to one another, and to the Divinity that connects us all.

About the Author: Marilyn Markham was a practicing registered nurse for 13 years when she realized nursing was no longer her calling. Something unknown and mysterious began to stir as she tried different careers and attempted to find something that would again bring her joy and satisfaction.

A personal crisis in 1995 left Marilyn with the need to learn a new way of navigating through life. She became a seeker. She learned to trust her inner voice, to meditate, to move energy and began giving intuitive readings for others. Her inward journey also allowed her to become acquainted with spiritual guides and angels, and the mutual purpose she shares with them.

Listening to her heart became natural for Marilyn, so when she first heard of Peruvian mystic, Don Américo Yábar, she knew it was the next step she sought. She worked with Don Américo first in Utah in 1997, and followed that with two trips to work with him in his homeland. She deeply resonated with the beauty and simplicity in his message of Cosmic Love, and felt as if she were hearing what her heart already knew. She felt as if she had come home.

In 1998, Marilyn wrote her first Dearest Waiki letter to explain to Américo her understanding of part of her life purpose and her place in his work. Thus, their energetic collaboration for Dearest Waiki: Love Letters to an Andean Mystic was born. Through the medium of stories, Marilyn shares how her life has been changed by living a life of Love and intent. She continues to listen to the Divine voice we all share. Américo now calls Marilyn a chakaruna—a feeling bridge between cultures.
