Good in Good- DJ: The book shows significant dampstaining to the outside edge and lower corner of the rear panel and also some mild dampstaining at the lower corner of the front panel. Some rough patches due to dampstaining at the outside edge of the rear pastedown endpaper. The last quarter of the text pages have a waviness due to exposure to moisture, though there is no actual dampstaining; sparse, faint foxing to the outside edges. the binding is square and secure; the text is free of marks. The DJ shows moderate wear to the extremities; with several short, closed tears and fraying along top edges; dampstaining evident at the rear panel (the inside of the rear panel is flecking off and some has adhered to the cloth of the book's rear panel, due to the dampstaining. Overall, remains a flawed, but sturdy reading copy with a clean text. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Jumbo Folio. 314 pages. A large, heavy hardcover. Text in English. Floppy Phonograph Record (phono-sheet) laid in with its envelope. The record contains excerpts from the No play Funa Benkei, as performed by Nishikawa Michio and others. Introduction by Ishikawa Jun. A large impressive book with beautiful production values. Full black buckram cloth exterior with gilt titles at the backstrip and with gilt, black and orange designs wrapping around both panels. The book is large and very heavy, so mailing charges will reflect actual postal shipping costs. Profusely illustrated with 393 tipped-in color plates and a multitude of black & white photographs by Kaneko Hiroshi. Introduction by Ishikawa Jun. First Edition [1966]; Second Printing [1970].
