A headstrong young woman and her aristocratic suitor must overcome their respective impediments to a happy ending ― his pride must be humbled and her prejudice dissolved. The consummate artistry of the author transforms this effervescent tale of a rural romance into a witty, shrewdly observed satire of English country life.

Review:

Elizabeth Bennet is the perfect Austen heroine: intelligent, generous, sensible, incapable of jealousy or any other major sin. That makes her sound like an insufferable goody-goody, but the truth is she's a completely hip character who ,if provoked, is not above skewering her antagonist with a piece of her exceptionally sharp, yet always polite, 18th-century wit. The real point of the book though, the critical question which will keep you fixated throughout, is: will Elizabeth and Mr Darcy hook up? Read this genuine all-time classic and discover the answer while enjoying a story that has charmed generation after generation.

Review:

"Fans of English literature will love the new colouring books based on classic tales, from Little Tiger Press." (- Gingerbread House)

"these two classic editions [Romeo and Juliet and Pride and Prejudice] are the perfect way to inject a little bit of literature into your colouring time. Packed full of lovely images and quotes from the masterpieces themselves, these two books should have pride of place on any book lover's shelves." (- Writing From The Tub)

"This charming set of two [Romeo and Juliet and Pride and Prejudice] would make a perfect gift for teenagers and adults (or yourself!)" (- Party Pieces)

"The ultimate beauty of these editions is the element of creative licence they allow us to exert upon the literary worlds we have imagined while reading. If you're an Austen fan, this is a really lovely addition for the collection, and if you're new to her writing, what better way to embrace the period itself." (- The Book Bag)

"I would highly recommend this book to fans of Pride and Prejudice, the imagery is beautiful, the quotes are really well chosen and it’s a really wonderful way of combining a classic novel with stunning illustrations that you can colour into your own bespoke book." (- Colouring in the Midst of Madness)

Book Description Dover Publications Inc., United States, 2001. Paperback. Condition: New. Large type / large print edition. Language: English . Brand New Book. One of the most universally loved and admired English novels, Pride and Prejudice was penned as a popular entertainment. But the consummate artistry of Jane Austen (1775-1817) transformed this effervescent tale of rural romance into a witty, shrewdly observed satire of English country life that is now regarded as one of the principal treasures of English language. In a remote Hertfordshire village, far off the good coach roads of George III s England, a country squire of no great means must marry off his five vivacious daughters. At the heart of this all-consuming enterprise are his headstrong second daughter Elizabeth Bennet and her aristocratic suitor Fitzwilliam Darcy -- two lovers whose pride must be humbled and prejudices dissolved before the novel can come to its splendid conclusion. A selection of the Common Core State Standards Initiative. Large print edition. Seller Inventory # AAC9780486417752
