Stated first printing of the first U.S. edition of Lessing's third novel. Copy is in very good condition. Some minor wear to the decorated yellow cloth boards. A touch of fraying to the bottom rear corner. Interior is clean and unmarked with a solid, secure binding. Dust jacket is good+ with some general edge wear. Some chipping and minor tearing most notably at the top front of the spine. Jacket now wrapped in protective plastic cover.
