Near fine (covers nice; contents clean & tight) nice (with some rippling to lamination) d/j. This process of laminating dust jackets caught on with certain publishers during this time period but didn't last terribly long. 8vo., blue cloth in dust jacket; 248 pages First Edition, first printing. Interesting signed presentation from Waugh on the front endpaper: "To the greatest love of my life- Alec." Although not noted anywhere, this book is from the library Collier Young [1908-1980], who was a screenwriter/producer and worked on many films in the 1950s before becoming a tv writer/producer of shows like "Ironside" and "The Wild, Wild West." He was married five times, with his wives including actress/director Ida Lupino from 1948 to 1951, to actress Joan Fontaine from 1952 to 1961, and businesswoman and former model Marjory Ann "Meg" Marsh in 1965, who was still married to him when he died in 1980. One presumes that the book is inscribed to Young's wife, Meg. Alec Waugh, the older brother of author Evelyn Waugh, was married three times.
