Very good. 129 pp. Anderson's "play within a play" about a troupe of actors acting a dramatization of the stroy of Joan of Arc. The maoin actrees is Mary Gray, who is to play Joan, and is in conflict with the director over how the character should be portrayed. Ingrid Bergman originally played Mary/ Joan and won a Tony Award (in its first year) for her performance and later played the same role in 1948 film version.

Directed by Margo Jones, Sam Wanamaker & Alan Anderson (due to Jones illness). Bergman won one of the first Tony Awards for this and went on the star in a film adaptation.
