Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine, signature of author in gilt on front panel. Light toning to spine. Top edge gilt. Not issued with dust jacket, but housed in publishers mylar jacket. Publishers slipcase, blue boards, matching limitation number (#27) on spine. From a limited edition of 100 copies, with number 11-100 available for public sale. This is copy number 27 of 100, (Halter T-552). From the personal collection of Roosevelt bibliographer Frederick B. Adams, Jr. His personal collation notes are included with this copy, dated 5/9/35. Possibly the most detailed collation of this book available, he finishes his notes with: "It is therefore obvious that the book was printed so far as possible (pp. 31 to 254 incl.) on cheaper stock of which it was impossible to find a further supply at short notice, making it necessary to fill out with another kind of paper, which also had to be used for corrections." He also observes that: "The second gathering of 8's ends with p.30. It is possible that the printing of these first two gatherings was delayed pending the receipt of the President's introduction, dated March 1st.".
