Lenormand was involved in numerous controversies over her 40 year career, and as a result was arrested more than once, although never detained for long periods of time. She left a half million franc fortune to a nephew who, being a devout Catholic, burned all her occult paraphernalia. Quarter brown leather and dark yellow paper covered boards lettered gilt and decorated at the spine . Sound very good with covers a little scuffed and head of spine very slightly chipped. Some browning to edge of text at the middle where the second book is bound in. Signedes.
