Hardcover. Card boards with brown paper/spine and small, white title block with black lettering. Small, approx. 4x7. 32 pp. plus 13 bw plates. Extremely clear illustrations from detailed engravings of all parts of the human skeleton, starting with the entire body in three graceful poses and followed by 10 additional plates, each with several figures of smaller sections of skeletal parts, labeled. William Cheselden was a well-known English surgeon and teacher of anatomy. The book's former owner, Frederic Wood Jones, was a British naturalist, physical anthropologist, and anatomist and taught anatomy and physical anthropology at several universities and medical schools in Britain and Australia. Intended for medical students but could be used for art students/artists. Covers detached and worn but present. Text block tight but with chipping to brittle page edges. General age soiling and toning but with no extraneous marks. With bookplate of Frederic Wood Jones. Still a very usable reference copy.
