During his business trip to New York, a Chicago architect unwittingly becomes the chief suspect in a murder investigation. Originally developed as a sequel to the 1980 hit "Stir Crazy," directed by Sidney Poitier and starring Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor, the script was rewritten for a female co-lead when Pryor chose not to participate. The second collaboration between Poitier and Wilder, and the film in which Wilder met co-star and future romantic partner Gilda Radner. Set and shot on location in Massachusetts and New York.
