Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Russell Lamb (photographer) (illustrator). First Edition. 1982 FIRST PRINTING of First Edition. SIGNED by Fred Beckey on the short-title page in black ballpoint pen -- strong signature. INSCRIBED, SIGNED and dated 1982 by Lamb on the title page. Lamb took the photos for this book. Examples of this book signed by both Beckey and Lamb are very uncommon. All examples that we have encountered that have been signed by Lamb (only 4 such books in 39 years) were those inscribed by him to personal friends in the year of publication. The book is in excellent condition with no previous owner marks or writing on any pages (other than Beckey's signature and Lamb's signed inscription), solid binding, clean, no rubbing, no foxing. The dust jacket is clean with no chips, no tears, no loss, original printed price still present on flap corner which has crease mark where it had once been folded over to hide the price. The book measures 345mm tall x 250mm, and has 128 pages, 88 color photos. Beckey writes a good history of the peaks, exploration, and the climbing. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
