Paperback. Condition: Fair. Not dated, ca. 1930. 32 pages in stiff cardstock covered by yellow wraps. $0.75 price on front inner wrap. Wraps in poor condition, heavily dilapidated. Front wrap is detached entirely at the spine, and held on by the inner wrap. Staining and edgewear throughout. Cardstock covers are brittle with age and have come partially detached from the spine. Binding is tenuous at best, but all pages are present and still attached at least partially. Some tearing to page edges and corners. Interior age toned, lightly stained in places.

This booklet begins with "The Unwobbling Pivot & The Great Digest", by Confucius, as translated by Pound, With notes and commentary on the text and the ideograms together with Ciu Hsi's "Preface" to the Chung Yung and Tsang's commentary on the Testament. This is the first book in the Square Dollar Series started by Pound after his release from imprisonment for treason in WWII. Of course Pound's iconoclasm is evident in these texts.

Book is bumped to spine ends and corners with a small tear to cloth at base of front board near spine. Internally hinges intact and slight tanning to page edges. The jacket is covered by original tissue guard which is tanned and has wear to edges, a tear extending across top hinge, one chip at front, one near spine gutter and loss at spine ends. The jacket is patchily faded to spine and both panels and has a finger nail sized bit of tanning on front cover at top. Rear panel rubbed. Postage will be confirmed when you enquire or order and for light or very heavy books will vary from the ABE quote which is based on a 1kg parcel. N.B.
