The main character is a woman who has been hired by a museum to build a life-sized model of "Lucy." Her personal life is in disarray so she welcomes this work. The meticulous work of reconstructing the prehistoric woman resembles a dissection in reverse. During the process she finds herself thinking about what Lucy was thinking and feeling and in doing so she ends up exploring fundamental questions about evolution, the human condition, and her own troubled life. 259p. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
