8vo, hardcover. pp. 252. Author not listed, but work now attributed to American historian Robert Walsh. Highly critical account of the French Empire's approach to governance and taxation, written upon the author's return to Baltimore from Europe. Rebound in half brown leather over marbled boards. Foxing is minimal but all the edges of the block of text are creased, as expected from this kind of paper and with wide margins. There are the signs of the previous binding stitch line in the internal margins. In very good condition all considered. Seller Inventory # 036177
