Measures about 8-1/2" wide x 10-1/4" high x 1/4" thick, in 133 pages. Illustrated in black and white, with many photographs, drawings, musical scores, calligraphy, paintings, and more. First 94 pages predominantly in English, with the balance of the text mostly in Chinese through page 125, then a map of China, followed by "Suggestions," "Selected Readings," and "Acknowledgements." Condition is very good, with no observed markings, but with some creasing and a very small closed tear to the leaf immediately inside the back cover. Living somewhere as renowned for rain and ridiculous property prices as England, it is hardly difficult to see why Sarah, her husband and their son though becoming olive growers in Italy would be a good idea. Following on from the TV programme showing Sarah's idea becoming reality, this book follows the family's move from the very germ of the idea through finding a house, building up their business and learning about the local community. The strong streak of practicality running through the book urges the reader to think such a move through very carefully; everything from deciding whether you are the right sort of person to tackle such a dramatic change of lifestyle, to finance and even recipes using produce from Sarah's new garden is covered.
