Review:
'Aesthetically, it is a masterpiece: it brings Climacus to life in English as never before; it expertly initiates the reader into the Postscript's riddles and satisfactions. It is, in sum, ideal for the non-specialist reader - and the clear best choice for the undergraduate classroom.' David D. Possen, Yale University
Book Description:
Kierkegaard's Concluding Unscientific Postscript is a classic of existential literature, the text that philosophers look to first when attempting to define Kierkegaard's own philosophy. This volume offers the work in a new translation by Alastair Hannay, together with an introduction that sets the work in its philosophical and historical contexts.

Book Description Brown Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 1982. First edition. xii, 385pp. Søren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813-1855) was a Danish philosopher, theologian, poet, social critic, and religious author who is widely considered to be the first existentialist philosopher. This is a comprehensive and critical account of his philosophy, and discloses beneath the diversity of topic, style and genre of his writings, an impressive and polemically powerful unity of thought and purpose. The author draws on all the main categories of Kierkegarrd's writing: aesthetic, dialectical, psychological and religious. The book is bound in the original brown boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the spine ends and a more noticeable dent on the top edge of the front board near the spine corner. The contents are tight and clean with age-browning and some foxing on the endpapers. There is no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear with bumping to the spine ends and fading to the spine. Seller Inventory # gPhilKierk03
