Reprint. foreword by the Duke of Edinburgh, introduction by editors, notes on contributors and further reading. Orange coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography, figures, occasional black-and-white illustration and at the rear. There is an envelope attached to the rear paste-down and there is a map showing Australia  National Parks and Equivalent Reserves. Dark maroon coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with black colour titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the backstrip. An early book on Australian conservation and what costs human activity has had on an ancient land, and, more importantly, what the various contributors suggest as solutions to problems caused. A little rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. Very light aged toning of the textblock edges with the occasional, very occasional, foxing spot. A little rubbing to the dustwrapper edges and panels with some signing of the fold over panels and foxing to the top edge of the rear fold over panel. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
