Review:
For teachers looking to inspire young string players or give the male string player further motivation, Stringpops: James Bond offers the perfect solution. The jazzy rhythms, hints of chromaticism and well known melodies from James Bond all make for a mix that will prove irresistible for the young string ensemble. Beginners are welcome, with an open string part allowing these learners the opportunity to play with more experienced players right from the word go.....This resource will bring a great del of enjoyment and satisfaction for those students lucky enough to play this music. Stringendo Magazine, April 2010 .....musically inclusive arrangements, where the open string parts, if not integral to the harmonic whole, seem to comment on it, drawing on its rhythmic impetus and phrasing to provide inputs which are musically congruous and make musical sense...That said, the more conventional arrangements...also work well, showing great understanding of the things young players find hard but which don't need labouring over....These arrangements really bring the pianist to the fore - providing musical scaffolding and enabling children to `catch' some sophisticated virtuosic nuances. It's fun music, well arranged, and very concert friendly. Players and audiences alike will love it. Music Teacher Magazine, September 2009
