Synopsis
Nye presents an overview of feminist theory since the nineteenth century, providing an analysis of its philosophical foundations and a critique of its dependence on male models. The originality of the book lies in its details, particularly its discussion of current developments in psychoanalytic and linguistic theory. Her analysis covers the work of Mill, Marx, Sartre, Freud, Lacan, and Derrida.
