Bach Flower Remedies have been around for nearly seventy years. They work to balance negative emotions. Yet right from the start there have been persistent stories of people using them to help plants cope with upheavals like frost and transplanting, and even with blight and disease.
I decided to collect together the available stories about this kind of Bach Remedy use. I also heard from practitioners and correspondents around the world, who sent me their experiences on using remedies in the garden. And finally, I looked at the possible reasons why a therapy that deals with mental states could help living things that did not have 'minds'...
This is the result. It's not the last word, but it may encourage you to try using the remedies in your own garden. And if you do I'd love to hear about your successes - and failures - for future editions!
Stefan Ball is a full-time consultant at the Dr Edward Bach Centre and the author of several books on the remedies. He is involved in developing and presenting the Practitioner Course and in all other aspects of the Centre's work, including the vital work of making the mother tinctures.
