Hard Cover. Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket. First Edition. Publisher's green rexine boards with gilt lettering to the spine and gilt vignette to the front board. A fine copy in a VG dustwrapper which is unclipped. The dustwrapper is chipped (with minor loss) at the head of the spine (and has a slither of loss at the base of the spine). At the top left-hand corner of the front panel there is a closed tear with an associated crease. A former owner has applied tape (to the verso of the dustwrapper) at the head of the spine which has now been removed leaving some tape residue. Unusually the spine is entirely un-faded. Black & white line drawings by the noted Illustrator EDWARD BAWDEN. Colour plates showing photos of prepared dishes. The first edition is inexplicably uncommon. Photographs/scans available upon request.
