A rare survival from the years when Sinatra had fallen from grace and embarked on the affair with Ava Gardner that led to the dissolution of his first marriage. The couple were to marry on 7 November 1951. The show - also known as Bulova Watch Time - aired on NBC on Saturday evenings and ran for two seasons between 1950 and 1952. Sinatra performed songs and sketches with guests; this episode, starring Phil Silvers and June Hutton, closed with the great Victor Young song, the noirish "Stella by Starlight". This copy signed "Ross" at top fore-corner of the cover sheet, perhaps a floor manager on the show, with pencilled annotations in his hand. The group of ephemera includes photographs of The Voice with disc jockey Bob McLaughlin, a favourite host on Los Angeles radio station KLAC. Viewing these shows now, Sinatra, sporting a pencil moustache - a rare stylistic faux pas - looks haunted. This is a fascinating memento from the lowest point in his career, before From Here to Eternity (1953) and the Capitol years changed everything. Quarto (280 x 225 mm), 79 pp. script (numbered 1-50 but with double-numberings and unnumbered inserts), titled on front page "The Frank Sinatra Show - Routine - Show of June 2, 1951"; [with:] group of four photographs (90 x 140 mm, one a little smaller): two publicity shots of Sinatra and disc jockey Bob McLaughlin (with facsimile autographs), two of Sinatraphile Florence Briggs and her collection of ephemera and albums (one dated June 1952 on verso); card put out by the Sinatra publicity department printed with the name of Florence Briggs. Script showing minor signs of handling, a few splash marks, light creasing, overall in very good condition.

A Laudatory Endorsement Referring To The Impending Release Of Cottler's Sole Solo Album In 1961, "Around The World In Percussion" On Somerset, And Probably Intended For Publicity Purposes. Called "The Best In The Business" By Frank Sinatra, Cottler Was Considered To Have The Most Reliable Sense Of Rhythm Of All Studio Drummers. "Cottler Started In The Late 1930S Playing With Red Norvo's Band, Then With Larry Clinton, Jimmy Dorsey, Les Brown And Others. In The Late 1940S, He Quit Touring And Settled In Los Angeles, Where He Worked In Radio, Tv, Movies, And Commercial Recordings. The Film Scores And Tv Shows Includes Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Milton Berle Show, And The Dinah Shore Show, And Countless Television Ommercials. Billy May And Nelson Riddle Used Cottler As One Of Their Favorite Musicians, Including Most Of Frank Sinatra's Classic Capitol Albums Of The Late 1950S And 1960S. He Also Performed On Virtually All Of Sinatra's Reprise Recordings. Cottler Became Sinatra's Favorite Drummer. Sinatra Hired Him To Play In His Touring Band In 1962, Where Cottler Remained Through All The Touring Ensembles Until His Death In 1989. [The Signature Is Original, And Appears To Me To Be Similar To Other Sinatra Signatures I Have Seen. Most Signatures By Sinatra Are Actualy Secretarial.
