From stunning coastal scenery in the north of the county, to the unique inland waterways of the Broads to the east and the remote beauty of the vast fenlands to the west. Norfolk has always been a popular holiday destination but until now has never had much of a reputation as walking country. However, even the most seasoned of walker will be delighted and satisfied by the 28 walks in the this title, which include the historic highlights of Castle Rising and Oxburgh Hall, ancient routes such as Boudicca's and the Peddars Way and stunning seascapes at Overstrand and Wells-next-the Sea.

This new title from Jarrold Publishing is another in the classic Pathfinder Walks series, using Ordnance Survey mapping. As in all titles in the series, each walk is accompanied by colour mapping and clear directions, with full-colour photographs throughout. The 28 walks are graded according to length and accompanied by extensive information and advice for walkers. Norfolk has a not wholly justified reputation for being flat. The flat fenland in the far west of the county is, however, a distinct region, shared with other counties and being drained by a complicated system of rivers, dykes and sluices. A similar landscape can be seen in the east of the county where the rivers Bure and Yare, but the rest of the county offers scenery aptly described by Ronald Blythe as carrying undulation to the most subtle limits. The north Norfolk coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty, providing outstanding walking along cliffs and beaches, with excellent opportunities for observing the abundant coastal wildlife. To the east, the Norfolk Broads is a unique area of lakes along rivers meandering towards the sea. They not only provide recreation but also have a special flora and fauna.
Norfolk's legacy of medieval country churches centre on the numerous villages, many of which are of special historic interest. Several country estates also allow access to their extensive parkland, providing another type of walking. Thetford Forest, which covers much of the south-west of the county, also provides a deal of excellent walking unlike that in the rest of the county."About this title" may belong to another edition of this title.
