Ratnoff was married to Rodolfo Ignacio Mayorga Lacayo, the son of Roman Mayorga Rivas who is considered the founder of modern journalism in Nicaragua. At some point, Ratnoff and Rodolfa got divorced. Ratnoff lived from 1908 to 1984, and must have been studying in Spain. With her bookplate. Fourth edition. Half morocco and marbled boards lettered and ruled in gilt, gilt topstain, original wraps bound in. 324 pp. In the original Spanish. Very Good with light rubbing, front hinge opens a little freely, pages toned with. Books inscribed by Unamuno are rare, especially this book, his best-known philosophical work. Its current English language publisher states it "posits that humans universally desire immortality, but whether we in fact survive death is a question immune from reason. Faced with this tension, we can only make sense of our hope for immortality in terms of irrational faith.". Seller Inventory # 140942388
