Sixteen black and white photographic plates. A collection of true stories of women in the early West by the author of the stories "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" and "A Man Called Horse." Fay's marginalia on a few pages, explaining her personal connection to other people featured and providing additional details. Rear endpapers have newspaper articles about various Alderson familly members tipped in. Minor bumping and edge wear to boards, tape stains to pastedowns.
