A letter typed by Jose Ferrer (not a secretary) on a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" onionskin type paper. To Cleveland, Ohio/Detroit, Michigan based theatre personality Jon Essex (Fisher Theatre, Detoit, Michigan). Dated: February 21, 1967. "Dear Jon: So very many thanks for the marvelous way you took care of me during the four weeks we were in Detroit. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the easy smooth way in which you handle your very complicated affairs and the consideration that you show for artists, so-called. I'm sorry that the film festival idea didn't work out, but maybe at a later date. Will you be coming to Baltimore at all? If so do let me know ahead of time so that I can buy you a drink and that we may chat without professional considerations interfering. Thanks again and best regards always. [signed] Jose Ferrer. In an envelope hand addressed by Ferrer & marked Air Mail by him; with printed return address: Jose Ferrer 375 Park Avenue New York, N.Y. 10022 With Bronx postmark & 2 different design 4 cent Lincoln stamps; violet & gray & 2 airmail stickers. Slight damage to lower edge of flap from opening, envelope shows some creases & age tanning. Letter in fine condition; characterstic bold signature in ink.
