Limited Edition on 1,800 numbered copies, of which this copy is unnumbered. Probably unnumbered as a reserve for the author as this copy has a signed presentation from Grebenstchikoff on the front endpaper: "To dear Edna R. Rothe, George Grebenstchikoff. June 21, 1940." Grebenstchikoff (1883-1964) was a writer and professor of Russian literature, born in Russia but immigrating to the United States in 1924 through France. He and Ilia Tolstoi founded the Churaevka artists' colony in Southbury, Connecticut, in 1925, where the author was also involved in the Alatas Publishing Company. Grebenstchikoff later taught at Southern Florida College from 1941 to 1952. Signed works are uncommon! Very Good (contents clean & tight; few bumps & short tear to top of front board). $150.00.
