About this Item
No. 0487/2500. 68 loose color & b/w reproductions of photographs by David Hamilton of women and teenage girls (many in the nude) resting in tan cloth clamshell box with mounted photographic color reproduction on front board, as issued. Includes one photograph with artist's original signature below image. Plates captioned with cursive handwriting in facsimile. 2 double-page fold-outs (including half-title & title-page) with introduction by Denise Baye. In America and the UK, the British photographer's works have been the subject of some controversy since the artist often depicts teenage girls in the nude. Because of differing attitudes regarding age and nudity, Hamilton has not received this negative attention in his adopted home of France, nor in other countries. Corners of box slightly bumped, minor staining on boards. Closed surface tear on lower edge of clamshell box compartment, firmly holding. Captions and all other text in French. Clamshell box in overall very good, plates in near fine condition. Complete original portfolio with one original signed print. Seller Inventory # 24615
