Personal secretary and military confidant to Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson while aboard the H.M.S. Victory on which both men were killed during the Battle of Trafalgar, October 21, 1805. Scott was only 38 years old when his body was literally split in half by a cannon ball as he stood next to Nelson on the deck of Victory.
