490 copies for sale of which this is an unnumbered presentation copy. Unpaginated. 35 cm. 10 tipped-in colour plates with attached biographic texts. Cream paper spine with blue paper boards, cream and gold label, beige ties. Some fading to blue. Small scratch on front, wear to edges and corners. Light foxing inside. Title continues: "Reproducing Important Canadian Paintings by Cornelius Kreighoff, Otto R. Jacobi, Paul Kane, Daniel Fowler, William Brymner, Paul Peel, Blair Bruce, Frederick M. Bell-Smith, James Wilson Morrice and Tom Thomson with an Introductory Text by Eric Browne and Biographical Sketches by Fred R. Jacob. Vol. I." This portfolio portrays ten of the best known Canadian painters in early 20th century. Some, like Tom Thomson and Cornelius Kreighoff, are household names but others, such as Daniel Fowler, are less well known.
