Completely revised and expanded edition, with many new drawings. A lovely presentation copy signed by Ronald Searle. Inscribed for Mrs. Flower-Ellis: best wishes for a Merry Christmas (and "thankyou for all those eye-exercises") from John Searle, Kaye Searle and Ronald Searle. The inscription looks like it is in Kaye Searle's (Kaye Webb's) handwriting as is John Searle's name. Ronald Searle's distinctive signature is the last one. The journalist Kaye Webb and Ronald Searle had twins Kate and John, and the Dedication is to them. Black hardback boards with gilt title to spine and handwritten book title blocked in gilt to upper board. 120 pp., illustrated with drawings throughout, some double-spread, some full-page. Yellow end-papers, inscription on ffep. Wonderful pen and ink sketches observed with Searle's keen eye - the blurb says Searle is taking up a more gentle pen. A Very Good wrapper (not price clipped) which is clean overall and not marked but has one or two closed tears, a slightly ragged head of spine and small hinge tear, and slightly ragged back top edge. Blurb quote: "Here is a book of complete enchantment. A book that evokes the spirit of Paris as individually as a whiff of a Gauloise". 50% price reduction now applied. Seller Inventory # 000235
