Second printing. Signed by author. Pierrepont Noyes was the son of John Humphrey Noyes, the leader of the Oneida Community, a nineteenth century religious group that practiced eugenics. In "Pallid Giant," an ancient advanced civilization destroys themselves with a superweapon and the survivors breed with sub-humans to produce modern man. This book was later reissued in 1946 as "Gentlemen, You are Mad!" following the US bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Belly band and jacket are torn and chipped along edges, but both are protected by mylar covers. Cover corners are lightly bumped and worn. Top edge of front cover is dented. Spine is lightly bumped, but binding is secure. Pages are lightly tanned, but text is bright, clean, and unmarked. Seller Inventory # 106776
