BOOK DESCRIPTION: 4to, 142 pgs, illustrations, maps, drawings. Loosely laid in is a South Camp Reunion attendee roster for April 1997. Stated Second Edition. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: As new with plastic covers over paper. Minor rubbing to spine. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: This is an excellent personal narrative of a POW in Germany during WWII. As a B-17 pilot, he ordered his crew to bail out after his bombing run over Ploesti, Romania. Captured in Albania, he eventually arrived at Stalag Luft III at Sagan (now Zagan, Poland). I had the opportunity to interview him and discuss his POW and escape adventures; truly an honor to have met him. This presentation copy of his privately printed narrative was sent by him to me following that interview. He discusses a bit of that interview in his epilogue to this Revised Edition.
