John Gill was born St. Ive but spent most of his life in or near Penryn. He was well known in the publishing trade and was an acquaintance to John Harris. He was also prominent in religious and political affairs particularly the Peace Society. This book is both an interesting social history of the time as well as of interest to family historians. The book is good but there is slight darkening to page edges and a small bump to top corner. The dust jacket has marks and the top edge is creased with a small tear at head of spine. Inscribed to John, Cornishman, with love from the author. This could be J. C. Trewin to whom the book is dedicated Size - 252mm. x 194mm. (sm.4to.).Pp.76. Seller Inventory # 001888
