Size: 25 in. in width x 12 ½ in. in height. 33 lines of hand-written text in an English legal hand on a sheet of vellum which has the remains of a vellum strip and the signature of George Norton; and an inscription on the reverse with three signatures. There are one horizontal folds and two vertical folds, and the document has been kept folded up. Wear present to the written surface, with three small holes in the text and another small hole in the left-hand margin and some staining present on a portion of the text and on the reverse. Partial transcription: "This Indenture made the ffourteenth day of August in the one & twentieth yeere of the Reigne of our Soveraign Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scotland ffraunce and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith &c Between George Norton of Abbotts Leigh in the County of [Somersetshire] Esq of the one parte, And Philipp Sparrowe of Abbotts Leigh aforesaid husbandman of the other parte. Witnesseth that the said George Norton for & in consideration of a surrender to him the said George Norton made by the said Philipp Sparrowe of one Indenture of lease bearing date the seaven & twentieth day of [-] in the thirteenth yeere of his [Reigne]. In Witness whereof the parties first above named have to these present Indentures, [-] sett their hands & seales the day & yeere first above written 1669.
