Reprint. Hardback in dust jacket. INSCRIBED by author to half-title: 'For Margaret, with warm regards from your neighbour at 2900 Broadway -' SIGNED and dated 23 August 1982. With two typed notes from Herb Caen to Korki Dunbar, written on note paper from the San Francisco Chronicle, and signed by Caen. Ex-library copy with library stamp to title page and white sticker presumably covering another library stamp to half-title. Caen's inscription partly covers the sticker - the addressee must have acquired their copy from their local library. Tape marks to covers and endpapers; edges rubbed. Good only. Scarce signed. Classic guide book by Pulitzer Prize-winner Herb Caen whose column for the San Francisco Chronicle was an essential compendium of the goings-on, gossip and diversions of San Francisco.
