His work made a decisive contribution to shaping the image of what is known as Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano. Disciple of Gregg Toland (photographer for Citizen Kane of Orson Wells).Gabriel Figueroa's portfolio of work consists of of 7 images, printed as heliogravure, extracted from the most iconic scenes of Mexican Cinema of the Golden Age such as La Perla (1945), Pueblerina (1948), Macario (1959), in which the compositions with an aesthetic load inspired by the muralist movement and where foreshortenings, chiaroscuros, perspec-tives and a vision of the Mexican landscape with saturated skies full of clouds are de-noted, as well as characters played by María Félix, Dolores del Río and Pedro Armendáriz.
