Painted as an expression of thanks for the recovery of King Louis XV from a severe illness in 1744. The original painting by Charles Antoine Coypel was placed in the appartments of the Queen in Versailles. Pierre Louis Surugue (Paris 1716-Paris 1772) was a French engraver and publisher, who sometimes signed as P. Surugue le fils. - A very good impression on thick paper, with ample margins.
