4to Signed by Eugene 'Gene' A. Cernan on half title page. Possibly book club edition as there is a circular blindstamp to back cover and no price on the DJ. Very good in unclipped DJ with medium chips to extremities and overall light rubbing. While piloting the Gemini IX mission, Cernan became the second American to walk in space. In his second space flight he was the lunar module pilot of Apollo X, the mission demonstrating that man could navigate safely and accurately in the moon's gravitational fields. Cernan made his third space flight as space craft commander of Apollo XVII. This last mission to the moon established several new records for manned space flight. During this mission he was the last man to have left his footprints on the surface of the moon. In this copy, Cernan adds 'Apollo X' next to his autograph. Seller Inventory # 8007
