The original pictorial softcover has been bound in cloth/gilt, retaining the original covers. Signed to the title page by Jim White. Also inscribed to the title page by H. C. Merritt. Affixed to the front pastedown is a b/w photo of White, signed by White. The cloth shows minor wear. The cloth is personalized in gilt to the front cover with the name of H. C. Merritt, Jr. , who was the son of American real estate developer, investor, rancher, and art collector Hulett Clinton Merritt, who built the Merritt Building in L. A. , was a director of U. S. Steel, and owned a large ranch in Tulare County. Affixed to the rep are two receipts for Guide Service Fee from Carlsbad Caverns; one is signed by H. C. Merritt (presumably Jr) , the other by Helen Merritt. Last page of text indicates later printing, includes 1937 date. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 44206
