First edition, first prnt. Black and white illustrations. Inscribed by Updike on the front free endpage. "To William and Mary Ewert cheers and regards, John Updike." Tiny rub on topstain; dustjacket with spine ends just touched and beginning interior toning (not apparent on the outside). Near Fine condition in a Near Fine dustjacket with an archival cover. The inscriptees were one of Updike's fine press publishers and his wife. William B. Ewert published poets such as Carver, Hall, Heyen, Kinnell, Oates, Sarton, Simic.
