This copy from the library of May Sarton, and inscribed to her by a different Thomas: "For my dearest May, This small token of affection to share with you a 'place of roots' in my life. I particularly share this with you since you are somewhat like a sister, having been in and out of Solitude yourself. My continuous best love, Thomas, Gethsemani, Kentucky." . 4to, unpaginated. Photographs. Inscribed to May [Sarton] on the title page by a (perhaps former) monk at the abbey and dated in 1971. Publisher's cream cloth with gilt lettering in illustrated jacket.
