Octavo, red cloth lettered in silver; lightly faded. First edition. A presentation copy, inscribed by Allen, who served on Patton's staff in World War II: "To Martin Stone with warmest regards, Bob Allen," on the front endpaper. Stone, the creator of Howdy Doody, produced the acclaimed radio show, "Author Meets the Critics." Stone was also an unofficial adviser to President Harry S. Truman.
