About this Item
Complete in three volumes bound into a single volume. Vol.I-319pp, Vol.II-288pp, Vol.III-279pp. The book appears to have been bound by an enthusiast rather than professional binder. The book is bound in thick card covered by brown cloth, the cloth has not been fully attached but is attached by stitched cord (see pictures). Rubbing to edges of cloth, splits to upper joint and less so to head and foot of same joint. Title information is hand-written to spine cloth. Splits to hinge between board and free end paper and between pages 2 and 3. Contemporary note to inside of front wrap 'Maria Cooke, Lady, Norfolk' and contemporary gift inscription to free end paper by the author reading 'Hannah Maria Cooke, Lady(?) With the author's kind regards, Captain Curling'. Foxing to end papers. Book is large with fairly weak binding leaving the text-block a little weak and in some areas with some freedom.
