First Edition ( 'First published 1987' ). Cambridge Studies in Modern Political Economies. The writings of the two Harvard professors, Daniel Bell and Charles S. Maier were often compared. Listed here is a book that was edited by Charles S. Maier and inscribed by him to Daniel Bell. Some years ago I purchased a good number of Daniel Bell's books. If you use his name as a keyword you'll be able to find the others among the books that I'm selling. The inscription is amusing: 'For Dan-- Perhaps the only book that he hasn't read yet. Charles, 10/3/89.' Once listed, this will be the Only signed copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. You can see the covers in the photos. There isn't any conspicuous wear. The book is square and very solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are nicely tight throughout. The covers are nicely tight as well. I've scrolled through the pages a number of times without finding any instances of soiling. I'm not seeing any conspicuous creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The introduction is written by Professor Maier. He's also written an essay. The other essayists are Alessandro Pizzorno, Claus Offe, Suzanne Berger, Massimo Paci, Laura Balbo, Paul Starr and Ellen Immergut, Gerald D. Feldman, Miles Kahler, Jan Pen, and John H. Goldthorpe. 'An understanding of the nature of advanced industrial economies is derived from this extensive investigation of the ways in which the boundaries of the political have changed in Europe since the 1960s.'.
